Vegan Mofo day 20, Sima Sushi Resteraunt Kingston

Hey guys,
I lost my sushi restaurant virginity tonight, I have made sushi many times, but have never eaten at a restaurant before! The boyfriend and I had a nice romantic date night, watching the Santa Claus parade inside a nice warm restaurant, watching the parade through the window (such a perfect view).
We went to this place in Kingston called Sima Sushi: http://www.simasushikingston.com/
Please excuse the crappy camera phone pics, does not to this wonderful food justice! This was a nice of a few different firsts, I love to try new things!
We started off with some nicely warmed sake which I have never had before, and really enjoyed it, it goes perfecting with sushi.

They gave us each a cup of complimentary warm and comforting Miso soup (this was actually my first time trying miso soup) This was my first time trying it, and I really enjoyed it.

We had spring rolls as an appetizer, they were pretty good, nice an crispy and crunchy without being oily, but they weren't super flavourful.

We had two different rolls from the "maki deluxe" catergory.
The pinks rolls were called "pink flower soy paper rolls" this was my first time trying soy paper wrappers, I much prefer nori, but these were a nice change, these rolls were filled with yam tempura, asparagus, avocado, shredded beets, and cucumber.

The rolls in the middle were called "yam dragon" and they were filled with avocado and cucumber, and with a nice crispy piece of yam tempura on the top. These were my favorite rolls, and I have to recreate these at home as I could have eaten 100 of these!

I loved this restaurant, the ambiance was amazing, the food was fresh and tasty and presentation was great too! I definitely want to go back soon.

Here is some awful quality pics of the Santa Claus parade so you can relieve your childhood, and get into the Christmas spirit.

That looks so yummy! I usually go to Sakura by Value Village, as you can get anything you want off the menu for one price, and I'm a slave to the grilled eggplant. However. The veggie rolls aren't quite so fancy-and I want those now!
